our mom n dad
Our dad was very special to us. He always made sure that we would never go without. He always had the answer. He battled a long battle with diabetes and lost, but he put up a good fight for many years. He recieved a few different transplants, but some failed. He also recieved a kidney from our mother, they were a perfect match from the start I guess. They went to their highschool prom togethor and they were inseperable ever since. They had us three kids and they took very good care of us, we were brought up in good surroundings, which is important for children.I remember them leaving to his doctor appts. in Minneapolis and wondering why our dad had to suffer so much. But no matter what we did not hear him complain one time about his illness. I suppose he didn't want anyone to worry about him, that's just the way he was. He was a very tall and handsome man.numerous people would compliment him or us about his looks. He passed away in Minneapolis on Januart 1st, 2005.It was a Saturday, and very cold.I remeber that day like it were yesterday. Our mother was never the same after that. She still took good care of us, but she was not the same. She would lay in her room and cry for days at a time .She even had to be put on numerous anti-depressant pills. It killed us kids to not be able to help her. She was a lost and lonely soul without our dad.She did not know what to do with herself, she couldn't handle it.It was very heartbreaking to see her go throught that. She became ill herself and was diagnosed with cancer. She put up a fight for 52 days, and suffered a great deal.It was so hard to see her in that pain and knowing that we couldn't help her.The hardest thing I ever had to do was let my mom go. I told her to go ahead and find my dad, that I would take care of the younger kids and the grandkids. We miss our mom and dad like crazy and would do anything to see them one more time if even for a minute. She lasted 3 years without our dad and although it hurts to not see her anymore I find comfort knowing she is once again with the love of her life. All they ever wanted was to be togehthor.
